You are invited to attend the opening reception of the annual 32BJ art show on Friday, June 22, from 6-9 PM. The annual art show is an opportunity for 32BJ members and their families to showcase their talents and share their art with other artists and the public. The show will take place at the 32BJ building, 25 West 18th Street, in the auditorium. The show is free and open to the public.
The theme of this year’s show is “Interpretation Through Our Eyes.” More than 40 doorpersons, building cleaners, security officers and other building service workers will be exhibiting their paintings, photographs, ceramics, poems and other works of art. Artists in this year’s show live in New York City and northern New Jersey, and many are immigrants from such countries as Bolivia, Bosnia, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, England, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nigeria, Phillipines, Poland and Puerto Rico.
The art will be on display on the 4th and 5th floors of the 32BJ building over the summer.
